To high school alumni: Does Who’s Who Among American High School Students have any credibility? This is a question for high school alumni who received and accepted the Who’s Who Among American High School Students award. Does the award have any credibility or validation? Did it help you to get into the college of your choice? And if so, which one was it? Do college admission boards actually look at the award as a credible achievement? If you are going to answer this question please make sure you had accepted the award. Don’t post an answer like, “I didn’t get that award but I still did dandy…” Again, this question is only for those that have received this award and are currently in college.
High School Alumni Fund Raising? Our high school class would like to solicit donations from classmates to put in a reserve fund to use for things like funeral flowers, etc. We don't want to get stuck with requests for silly things, so what kinds of things should we use the alumni fund for besides funerals?
Butler Junior High School Alumni? Hello, I am a current student enrolled at Butler Junior High School in Oak Brook, Illinois. High School Alumni vs the None-Alumni Class, Reunions Addressed..Opinions please!? I see that our High School Reunion Committee Head used a separate page to disclose the NON-Alumni Class on our website, instead of simply listing the Alumni Class. He titles the list as "Pre-Graduates". You ought to see it, sections of them from the absence of the Seniors, to the.... read on.... By sections. First: The list of the people that were not in the Senior Annual or Graduated. Second: people whom were not in the Junior Annual. Third: People whom were not in the Junior or Senior Annuals. Fourth: People whom were not in the Sophomore, Junior or Senior Annuals. Fifth: People whom were not in the Freshman, Sophomore, Junior or Senior Annuals and Finally the Sixth: People whom were not in the Eighth, Freshman, Sophomore, Junior or Senior Annuals. What could this do? First, it not only upsets some classmates to be disclosed, but what if one or more decides to pay back with a scene at the coming Reunion. Another what if, a couples marriage is disturbed because the Classmate Spouse never disclosed that they were not part of a Alumni Class. Rather than lessen those whom are listed, I suggested that if the committee lists those, then the committee should address the fact that some of these people may of moved out of the area, some may of went to the military, some passed on, some got the High School Equivalencies (GED) and furthered their education. Then last of all there were those left for the families personal reasons. E.G. The Reunion Committee at any time, should give people credit, not embarrasement of being visually pointed out as Non-Alumni classmates to the Alumni class! I hope the future Committee's will consider to never let this happen at their Reunions. A Reunion should be for sharing good memories and catching up, not to criticize. Good Day!
Free Online High School Alumni Search Engines? I have been "assigned" to locate the alumni for our class of 1979 Bentonville High School in Bentonville Arkansas. I have been on Reunion.com and Classmates.com and there are only part of the class who are on there, the school itself has several web sites for this, but no one from our class is on there. Plus you have to "pay" to communicate with any of the other alumni and this could get expensive in an economy where funds are tight for everyone. Does anyone know of any other web searches I could check out? I know there are even several "deep web" search engines out there for this, but I have been unable to find them. All help would be greatly appreciated, as it will help make our job allot easier, trying to search for a site for this when we don't quite know where or how to look it up takes a tremendous amount of time I could be using to do the rest of the "work I have been assigned for this reunion" LOL Thanks to anyone and all. class of 79
How can I make it through High School successfully, both academically and socially? I just graduated 8th Grade and I'm going to the top High School in my state. I've gotten advice from a few people on how to survive in High School- but most of the time I get unclear answers. Now I would like to hear what the worldwide community can say =). Advice from High School students and High School alumni would really help! Thanks!
HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI: Did you attend your Senior Prom? I missed mine due to a long, chain of events (i'll spare you the story). But, in a nutshell, I wasn't interested in going at the time - even stag. So, I went to a party instead. Now, in my elder years, I think about it every now and then and have regrets about not going. Anyone else miss their prom and have regrets? I'd rather receive answers from those that have been out of school 10 years or more. THANKS!
High School Alumni Honorees/Alive only? I'm doing a little research. Many high schools nominate and induct alumin for special awards and recognition. If your school does that, are these awards ONLY given to former students who are alive? What about those who have passed? Also, does their manner of death count "more" than the way they lived their lives when given such awards? Meaning, if they died of an accidental drug overdose, or even suicide would that automatically take them out of the running for an award?

question about senior year (for high school alumni)? in the last year, i have managed to make more friends then i have made in my entire high school year. Also i have a new best friend that is like a sister to me. i love all of these people, they have somehow managed to become a part of my family. however, in past years.. i have lost touch with all of my friends i had in the past.. or at least most of them.. anyway, what im trying to get at is.. after high school did you end up staying in touch with all of your friends.. or did you eventually lose what you had?? and did you care what happened? did it all turn out for the better? im so scared.. in fact, i think im to scared about it to even enjoy my senior year :-/
I am jealous of my former high school alumni making 200-300k right out of college, how to stop being jealous? I heard today that 2 of my former high school classmates who just graduated college immediately got jobs at 200 to 300k, I know some may think they are lying, but it is completely true, they got nice business type jobs at big corporations in big cities. What is worse is they were complete 'schlubs' in high school, could care less about school or making a difference, and now they've landed these jobs, and I know with their personalities they will spend the money on useless things instead of trying to help the world (I'm sure they'll help some but with their personalities they are more likely to buy an expensive car than help others.) I can't help but being jealous of this, I am still applying to become a teacher, and these guys are earning far more than I would after 30 years of teaching. I heard about this a few hours ago so I will get over it on my own, but I was just wondering if anyone had different perspectives on this situation and how not to be jealous of this.
I am looking for a saying to put on a shirt for our high school alumni softball tourn.? We are having a softball tournament for all the graduates of our high school. Our class is looking for a saying to put on the front and something unique about one of our classmates that recently passed away on the back. Another class used the saying angel in th outfield so we would like to use something on the back that is similar to their quote. We are ok with using something Sarcastic on the front being that none of the other classes like us bc we normally make it to the chamionship every year! Thanks

Question for high school baseball juniors, seniors, alumni? I'm around 5'8" and I'm going to start high school baseball next year. Is being able to hit the ball 300 feet important to coaches in SoCal? If I want to be a pitcher, how fast should my velocity be? I throw around 70 mph so would it be smarter to become a control and movement pitcher? This isn't my first year playing, so I know how to train for baseball, just wanted to know what I should try to get to.
