Locate High School Classmates

Is it a good idea to ask high school classmates about business connections?

I have been searching for jobs out of college with little, if any success. I thought about asking someone I knew in high school if they had any information about job openings because those are the people who knew me best (I did not establish any personal relationships when I was in college) and therefore, would be willing to help me.

1. It's tough to get a job with this economy. Yes, it's a good idea to ask former classmates. However, make sure to ask your friends and the responsible kids, not the immature jerks who still haven't grown up or the people you had a grudge with. They might either not help you, or their recommendation may be worse than no recommendation.
